A tradition of quality

Throughout their colourful history, Ostrobothnian yeomen have retained their status as independent and self-sufficient people. Ostrobothnia, indeed, also has a far-reaching handicraft tradition. In Finland, we know that whatever Ostrobothnians do, they do it well and with the finest materials.

The region is still abound with small businesses and craftsmen, working hard to produce rugs, furnishings and boats. Significant efforts are being made in the region, for example, to further develop the local wood and upholstery industries.

International trade has been part of Ostrobothnian business since the 1700s, with the sale of tar. Today, in additional to fine furnishings, Ostrobothnia is known for its production technology for the metal industry and the manufacturing of luxurious sailboats.
