THE LAND BEHIND IT ALL
The province of Pohjanmaa (Ostrobothnia in English) is located in Central Finland along the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia. The region is characterised by expansive agricultural landscapes. Flowing fields alternate with dense patches of forest and quiet stretches of wilderness rich in flora and fauna. The winters are snow-filled and frigid, while summer nights are known for their brightness and awe-inspiring beauty.
The people of the region are known for their perseverance, dependability and serious approach to life. An eventful history and occasionally harsh natural conditions have taught the Ostrobothnians to be an independent people who rely on their own judgment and skills.
